How to Empathize

1. Temporarily disconnect your face from the parts of your body where you feel emotion (chest, gut, etc)
2. Look into the other person's eyes, & align your face with theirs
3. Carefully mimic their facial expression
4. Hold that expression, reconnect with your own face and allow feedback from your face into your chest, gut, etc
5. Take note of the emotion you feel. In all likelihood this is what the other person is feeling.
